HARRY CHAPIN HUNGER WALK/RIDE

Due to COVID-19, HCFB needs our support more than ever as they feed the hungry in our surrounding community. The CCF is sponsoring its own walk/ride right here in Copperleaf to raise funds of at least $15,000 for them. You can walk/ride  the Copperleaf loop or any portion you'd like.  We hope you’ll register now to walk/ride along with us on January 30 for this important cause!

We are hosting a food drive here that morning too. A HCFB van will be in the clubhouse parking lot from 8:00 – 10:00 to collect non-perishable food. Needed items include canned fish/chicken, beans, rice, canned vegetables, cooking oil, soups, breakfast bars, etc. Non-perishable items can also be dropped off during the walk at the water station (Copper Lake Drive & Copperleaf Blvd.) or on the Friday before the walk at Bill Starr’s front porch (23811 Jasmine Lake Dr.)

Pre-walk festivities begin at the pool café at 8:30 with music by Mark Staines, coffee & doughnuts, and a check presentation to HCFB. Walk/Ride starts at 9:00 from the Clubhouse. Post-walk festivities include music and a refreshment station with a keg of beer. Lois Thome from WINK news will be with us and will be conducting some interviews.

Please observe social distancing and wear a mask when at the poolside café if you are not seated at a table and eating/drinking.

If you are unable to participate in the walk, you can still support the Harry Chapin Food Bank and the other charities we support by donating to the Foundation’s Annual Appeal.
