About The Event

Harry Chapin Food Bank (HCFB)  needs our support more than ever as they feed the hungry in our surrounding community as many struggle with the higher cost of food and shelter.   The CCF is sponsoring the fourth annual Copperleaf walk/ride right here in Copperleaf to raise funds for HCFB. You can walk/ride the Copperleaf loop or any portion you'd like. Last year we had over 230 participants. Let’s top that!. We hope you’ll register now to walk/ride along with us on January 27th for this important cause!  Please wear your HCFB orange t-shirt from a previous walk or a red t-shirt if you do not have a HCFB orange t-shirt.

A generous member is matching up to $10,000 so your donation can have a double impact this year!

We are hosting a food drive here that morning too. A HCFB van will be in the clubhouse parking lot from 8:00 – 10:00 to collect non-perishable food. Needed items include canned fish/chicken, beans, rice, canned vegetables, cooking oil, soups, breakfast bars, etc. Non-perishable items can also be dropped off during the walk at the water station (Copper Lake Drive & Copperleaf Blvd.) or on the Friday before the walk at Bill Starr’s front porch (23811 Jasmine Lake Dr).

Pre-walk festivities begin in the parking lot near the tent at 8:30 with music, coffee & doughnuts, and a check presentation to HCFB. Walk/Ride starts at 9:00 from the tent area. Post-walk festivities include music and a refreshment station. Lois Thome from WINK news will be with us and will be conducting some interviews.

If you are unable to participate in the walk, you can still support the Harry Chapin Food Bank and the other charities we support by donating to the Foundation’s Annual Appeal. You can also register for the event by emailing Bill Starr (wjstarr50@gmail.com) and donate by check made out to CCF, on memo line indicate CCF Hunger Walk. Drop off at Copperleaf Admin offices (trailer in the Golf Maintenance Facility parking lot.

For more information, contact Bill Starr via email (wjstarr50@gmail.com) or phone (262-853-6360).
